George A. Schatzschneider, 63, died on Monday October 17, 2016. A lifelong resident of Hampton, he had worked as a HVAC Mechanic at NASA Langley for over 30 years. He was a longtime member of the IBEW 1340. George proudly served in the Virginia Army National Guard for 9 years.

Survivors include his loving wife Judy Schatzschneider; daughter, Ronda Coleman (Brian); sons, Andy Schatzschneider, Jimmy Ivey (Kim Ireland), Robby Ivey (Kim Skaggs); grandchildren, Matthew Coleman, Brianna Coleman, Ryan Stewart, Kara Ivey, Will Ivey (Jealisa), Robert Ivey (Jessie), Don Lee Ivey, and Shannon Ivey; great-grandchildren, Kayden Thorne, Julain Ivey, Kane Ivey, Michael Ivey, and Joshua Ivey.

The family will receive friends at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home on Thursday, October 20, 2016 from 6-8PM. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 2PM in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.
