George Michalos, 75, died Thursday, July 17, 2014. A native of New York, he had been a Peninsula resident for the last 65 years where he retired from Langley AAFES in 1995 after 38 years of service. A true outdoorsman, George loved metal detecting, deer hunting, fishing, bike riding and rv-ing; and enjoyed making ceramics and wood crafting. He never met a stranger, was always smiling and had a beautiful laugh. Preceded in death by his parents John and Lil Michalos, his sister Mary Fortune, his brother Johnny Michalos, and his son Michael P. Boole; survivors include his wife, Jo-Anne A. Michalos; his children, Robin Michalos-Hare, Rick Boole, Ronnie Boole, Keith Boole and Katie Boole; his sister, Natalie Wood; his brother, Alex Michalos; eleven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his beloved mother-in-law, Mary E. Ames who had lived with them for the last 25 years. The family would like to thank George's niece, Tina and her son, Andrew for all of the love, compassion, and help she has given them during his time of illness.
