George L. Honeycutt died on August 24, 2026. He was born on July 9, 1935, in Wadesboro, NC to Bertha S. and George W. Honeycutt. Goerge retired from C&P Telephone Company later Verizon Communications after 35 years and then worked for Tysinger Mercedes. He was a member of First United Methodist Church Fox Hill for many years. He will be remembered as a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend.

George was preceded in death by his first wife,Margaret Honeycutt; mother, Bertha Honeycutt Ricketts; father, George W. Honeycutt; and brother, Richard Honeycutt. George is survived by his loving wife of eighteen years Carroll V. Honeycutt; daughters, Susan (Michael) Hiltke and Katherine (James) Steinke; grandchildren, Nathan (Christina) Hiltke, Emily Hiltke; and great-grandchildren, Ava, Luke, and Allison Hiltke; sister, Shirley Harward; and many nieces and nephews. He had four stepchildren, Elizabeth Montgomery, Mark Eissing (Laura Lee), Jennifer Eissing, Laura Aussey; thirteen step-grandchildren; and ten step-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at First United Methodist Church Fox Hill from 12-1PM. A funeral service will begin at 1PM with burial in Clark Cemetery immediately after. The family will gather back at the church following the interment for a time of fellowship.
