IN LOVING MEMORY OF
George Edward
Conley
July 10, 1959 – April 13, 2023
George Edward Conley II, 63, passed away peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by many loving family members on April 13, 2023. He was born on July 10, 1959, to Harry and Yon Conley in Seoul, South Korea. After moving to Hampton, George attended Kecoughtan High School where he was known for his athletic prowess and passion for sports. He participated in football, wrestling, and track; and also competed on a national level in Olympic weightlifting with the Lower Peninsula Weightlifting Club. At his peak, he was the best in the country, winning the US Open, the US Nationals, and a gold medal in the Junior Olympics. George later competed in arm wrestling where he won numerous national tournaments. After graduation he went on to be a chef and worked in restaurants across the country.
George was kind and generous to a fault, especially with family and friends. He was passionate about sharing the love of our Lord with others and was an integral part of his church. Now that he has passed into the arms of our Lord, we should remind ourselves that while this is the end of George's physical life on Earth, it's the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for him.
George joins his sister, Wendy L. Daugs, and father Harry W. Conley, in Heaven. He is survived by many loving family members, including his loving mother, Yon H. Conley and brother, William Conley. George was very active in the lives of his nieces and nephews. They include Jennifer Hartridge, Bill Conley, Rachael Adams, Erika Flinn, Claudia Conley, Harry Conley, Joseph Watson, and Jordan Watson.
