Frederick J. Pawell, Jr. was born on October 12, 1918 and died Friday, August 19, 2016. He was married to the love of his life, Geraldine for "20 years of wedded bliss". They were blessed with their daughter, Judith of Des Moines, IA. Fred was fortunate to meet and be married to Grace for 40 years. She preceded him in death in 1999. Her daughter Faye lives in Sun City, AZ.

Fred shared many gifts with us including voluntarily joining the US Marine Corps during World War II. He transferred to the Air Force in 1950 and retired in 1966 as Chief Master Sergeant. He was an ordained Methodist minister and served for 10 years as the first Executive Director of Big Brothers, Hampton.  He served as Chaplain with the Hampton Police Dept. for 3 years and with the Williamsburg Police Dept. for 22 years.

Fred is survived by his best friend, Barbara Hacker and Henry the dog.

The family would like to express their appreciation and blessings to the staff at Warwick Keswick Place and the staff of Riverside Private Duty.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 27, 2016 at St. Luke's United Methodist Church. Interment will take place in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Luke's United Methodist Church or the Williamsburg Police Dept.
