Frederick Dodson, 86, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2014. A lifelong resident of Newport News, he retired from Newport News Shipbuilding in 1992. Being an avid golfer, he was a member of the Old Dominion Golf Club and the Senior Golfers of Virginia.

Mr. Dodson was preceded in death by his parents, Editha and Louis Dodson, Sr. of North Newport News (Warwick County) now known as Newport News; son, Albert Dodson, Sr.; brothers, Alfred Eley Dodson and Louis Dodson, Jr.; and sister, Virginia Ann Dodson. He is survived by his sisters, Eleanora LeGall and her husband Clyde and Katherine Humphrey Webster; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted 1:00 PM Friday at Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions in Hampton by Pastor Odell Williams. Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens.
