Frederica K Jordan, departed this life on Sunday May 5, 2014. "Freddie" as her friends knew her, was a long time resident of Hampton Roads. She grew up in Manhattan, New York and later resided in France and Alaska. She ultimately moved to Virginia, where she made Hampton her home. Freddie was a lover of all animals and enjoyed spending time outdoors gardening and swimming at the community pool. She generously contributed to several causes and charities - among her favorites were WHRO in Hampton Roads and the World Wildlife Federation. She volunteered evenings, teaching adult reading classes and also worked at the tax office doing free income tax preparations for those in need. She was a very generous woman - whether it came to donating time or money, she was constantly "paying it forward". Freddie was preceded in death by her father, Frederick Charles Wessell and Mother Deborah M Wessell, both of New York. While she never had children of her own, she had a number of people that adopted her into their family. They request that in lieu of flowers, you honor her legacy by making a donation to WHRO of Hampton Roads or the World Wildlife Federation.
