Frank W. Smith, Jr. passed away on August 4, 2019. Frank was born in Newport News, VA on July 3, 1950 to Frank W. and Audrey Cambridge Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Frankie Joe, a sister, Shirley Smith, and a brother, William Smith.
He is survived by 4 children, Douglas Smith of Poquoson, VA, Crystal Scranton of Colorado Springs, CO, and Michelle Sweet and Phillip Smith, both of New Kent County, VA. He is also survived by four sisters, Margaret Fields (Ray) of Ozark, AL, Ann Smith of Hampton, VA, Frances Faria (Russell) of Newton, AL, and Susan Gentry (Randy) of Ozark, AL, and several nieces and nephews.
Frank was a US Army veteran who served in Vietnam where he earned several medals including a Purple Heart.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 9, 2019 from 6-7:30 PM at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home. A graveside service for family only will be conducted at Greenlawn Memorial Park on Saturday, August 10 at 11AM.
