Frank Edward Hearne, 90 of Hampton, died on February 8, 2015. Frank was born in Caldwell, Texas, son of the late Lonnie and Emma Hearne. He was preceded in death by siblings Ruby Plemper, Hubert Hearne, and Lonnie Hearne, Jr. and his long-time companion Emil Kashouty. He is survived by his brother Jack Hearne and wife Shirley and brother-in-law Edgar Plemper of Texas. He is also survived by his nephews Steven Hearne and wife Sandy, David Hearne and wife Christy of Virginia and Richie Plemper of Texas and his nieces Deborah Plemper of Texas and Charlene Hearne Wentland and his grandnephews Lonnie Hearne, Austin Hearne, Spencer Hearne and Jordan Wentland of Virginia and numerous additional nieces and nephews and his extended and loving family in Texas and Arkansas. Frank served his country in World War II in the 168th Infantry 38th Division in Italy. He was awarded four Bronze stars, a Good Conduct Medal, a Distinguished Unit Badge, a World War II Victory Medal and a Purple Heart for his service overseas. Frank had a passion for opera, gourmet cooking, gardening, fine art and great literature. He will be fondly remembered for bringing great chefs and lovely music to the Tidewater area. Following Frank's wishes there will be no formal memorial service. The family would like to acknowledge and express heartfelt gratitude to those who provided such loving care in Frank's final days including Ms. Bessie Barnes and the staff of St. Francis Nursing Home.
