Frances Lescure Williams, 98, of Hampton, Virginia, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025, surrounded by family. Born May 11, 1927, in Roanoke, Virginia, Frances led a long, fulfilling life marked by devotion to her faith, love for her family, and service to her community.
She is survived by her husband of 75 years, Ralph Williams; her daughter, Sherry Berkley (Art); son-in-law, Jim Ellis; grandson, Jeff Williams (Sarah); granddaughters, Lindsay Feggans (Reece), Valerie Westheimer (Matt), and Tori Eleonora (Kenny); and twelve great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Pat Poslik (Joe), and her brother, Dana Brown (Lorraine).
Frances was preceded in death by her son, Gary Williams; parents, Mable and Leonard Brown; her brother, Joe Lescure Jr.; and her sister, Connie.
A longtime member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hampton, Frances lived her faith through service. She volunteered with the Red Cross and Meals on Wheels.
Frances loved crafting beautiful works of art with her husband, and was known for her delicious desserts, especially her annual sand tarts. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister who was always there for her family.
She loved sports, enjoyed playing softball, golf, bowling, and waterskiing, embracing every opportunity life offered. Known for her adventurous spirit, she once rode their motorcycle across the country. She brought warmth, laughter, and love wherever she went, and her grace, humor, and compassion will be forever remembered.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 am, Friday, October 24, 2025, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church followed by a luncheon. Interment will take place at 3:00 pm at Parklawn Memorial Park.
