Just five days shy of her 78 ^th birthday, with her children by her side, Frances V. Seely went home to be with the Lord. Born August 24, 1943 in Norfolk, she travelled with her military family before coming to Hampton for her senior year of high school. It was there that she met her husband Nelson and the two were together for 55 years before his unexpected passing three years ago. Frances loved flower gardening, dancing to the oldies, and Snickers candy bars, but the thing she loved most was her family. Her proudest accomplishments were raising her three children and spoiling her seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Lori Peters (Doug), Sheri Yarrington (Phillip), and Jason Seely (Claudia); seven grandchildren, Branden (Heather), Casey (Brittany), Andrew (Brooke), Rebecca, Coby, Sofia, and Treyson; and six great-grandchildren, Lane, Evelynn, Charlotte, Caroline, Lillie, and Willow.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 765 J. Clyde Morris Boulevard in Newport News. Attendants are asked to wear yellow as it was Frances' favorite color.
