Early morning on March 27th, 2021, Floyd accepted his wings and went on to his next assignment. Born June 26, 1996, in Newport News, VA at Mary Immaculate Hospital, he was the only child born to Tanika "Nikki" Dardy and the firstborn for Floyd Everett Jones, Sr.
Floyd, affectionately known as "EARLYBIRD", later shortened to just "BIRD"; attended Hampton Public Schools, where he was an active member of the Tyler's Elementary Gentlemen Club, Marching Elites Drill Team, and The Kappa League Gentlemen Club. He, as well, was a member of First Baptist Church of North King Street and Sixth Mount Zion Temple both in Hampton Virginia. Floyd graduated from Hampton High School in 2014 with honors and excelled as a phenomenal wide receiver, playing both JV and Varsity football for the infamous Mike Smith. He gained an athletic scholarship to UVA Wise which he would later transfer to Division I NSU to complete his football career and major in Kinesiology.
Floyd was preceded in death by his great grandparents Harold and Mildred Domingue of Hampton Virginia, and his grandfather Rev. Floyd O. Jones and uncle Roulette Jones both of Danville Virginia. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Tanika "Nikki" Dardy of Hampton, VA; his father, Floyd E Jones Sr (Tabatha) of Raleigh, NC; a sister, Amaia Jones of Danville,VA; maternal grandmother, Darlene Domingue of Hampton, VA; paternal grandmother, Clara Jean Jones of Danville, VA; grandfather, Rudy Dardy (Robin) of Newport News, VA; two favorite aunts, Cheryl Domingue of Hampton, VA and Vickie Jones (Owen) of Lynchburg, VA; special cousins, Kenya Emile Memuri and Markel Domingue, Brooklyn Watkins, Latoya Boyd "Gee Gee" and Teanna Richey; and special friends Joron Butler, Umar M-Wyatt, Jamonte Spriggs "Lil Chuck", Marty Bryant, Demetrius Strickland " Lil D", Sam Freeman, MacKenzie Pittman and Raqual Lewis along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and endless friends.
Special Appreciation goes to Dr. David Schiff of UVA Oncology, Dr. William MacAllister of Riverside Neurology, Dr. Allen Thornton of HU Proton Therapy, Dr. Olugbemisola McCoy of Riverside Urology, Dr. Thaddeus Sutton of Riverside Internal Medicine, Dr. Ashley Sumral of Levin Cancer Institute (Charlotte, NC) and Fire Station Ladder 6, 10, and 11.
Thanks to EVERYONE for their undying love and support these past two years. God makes NO MISTAKES and now has a real soldier in his army and a beautiful being planted back in his garden. LET THE CHURCH SAY AMEN!!!!
