Florence Jacqueline Quinn, 92, passed away on Monday June 29, 2026. Born to Bruce and Elmo Saunders, she was a native of Fox Hill and she remained a lifelong Hampton resident. She loved her Lord and all children and devoted 10 years to her career as the K-4 teacher at Memorial Christian School. She also taught the 5 year old Sunday school class at Memorial Baptist Church for many years and later taught Sunday school and Awanas at Ivy Memorial Baptist Church.
She loved living on the family farm and enjoyed canning and freezing the vegetables they grew. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, tending her flower garden and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Kenneth Lee Quinn, Sr.; her brother Bruce H. Saunders, Jr. sister, Lula M. Lee; and grandson, John H. Grosvenor, III; she leaves to cherish her sweet memory, daughters, Pamela L. Enneking (Kenneth) and Sharon L. Elliot (Kenneth); son, Kenneth L. Quinn, Jr. (Helen); grandchildren, Kenneth D. Grosvenor, Kenneth L. Quinn, III (Stacy), Katie Mulvaney (Thomas), and Kenneth Elliot, Jr. (Brittany); great-grandchildren, Peyton, Warren, Levi, and Jessie Mulvaney; nephews, William Lee (Alejandra) and John Hocker (Deb); niece, Donna Hocker; and three wonderful caregivers, Gloria Moore, Tara Schwartz, and Yvonne Locke.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, downtown Hampton. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Ivy Memorial Baptist Church, Hampton by Rev. Dr. Brian Williams with a reception to follow at the church. A private family graveside service will be held prior to the Celebration of Life.
