Florence Elizabeth Moss Ruehe, 88, died February 10, 2017. Born in Paris, IL, she had been a Hampton resident since 1963. She graduated from University of Illinois in 1950 and then married Richard W. Ruehe, who preceded her in death in 2013. Mrs. Ruehe volunteered throughout her life, served with the Clean City Commission, attended the historical society meetings and was a member of CNU's LifeLong Learning Society. In the early 1970's, she started to substitute teach in the Hampton City Schools. Her love of teaching prompted a return to school where she received her Masters in Education from Old Dominion University. Mrs. Ruehe taught science for 20 years in Hampton until retiring to travel the world with her husband for the next 15 years.

Mrs. Ruehe is survived by her daughters, Ann Adams and Cathy Ruehe; sons, retired Rear Admiral Rick Ruehe and retired LTC John Ruehe; eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

A private interment service will be held in Champaign, IL.

The family requests that any memorials take the form of contributions to a favorite charity.
