FC1 Gary L. Rehm, Jr., 37, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2017 while serving aboard the USS Fitzgerald in Japan.  He joined the U.S. Navy in 1998 immediately following his graduation from Oberlin High School.

Gary is survived by his wife of 17 years, Erin E. Rehm; parents, Anita and Gary L. Rehm, Sr.; sister, Jessica Neal; and niece, Margaret Neal. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Stanley and Anna Mae Rehm, and Frank and Margaret Tokarczyk.

The family will receive friends from 12-4:30 and 5:30-8:00 PM Friday at Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions in Hampton.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am Saturday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, 100 Harpersville Rd. in Newport News, by Rev. John David Ramsey and Rev. Tom E. Mattingly.  Burial with full military honors will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
