R. Faye Jones, 71, died Friday, March 7, 2025. A native and lifelong resident of Hampton, Faye was a graduate of Hampton High School and member of First United Church of Christ. She began work at Leggett's Department Store when she was 18 and then worked for Belks and then Dilliards until retiring in 2024. Faye loved to make cakes and they were amazing.

Faye is survived by her sister, Connie Sue Johnson (Michael); brothers, C. Edward Jones and Barry James Jones(Sandra); and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 12 noon on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S. Armistead Ave, Hampton. The service will be livestreamed on the funeral home Facebook page and may be watched live click here or you can view after under videos.
