Everett M. Wright Sr., 87, passed away February 3, 2019 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Indiana, he had been a longtime resident of Hampton. Everett enjoyed a long career in the United States Air Force where he served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. After over 20 years of service Everett retired as a Master Sergeant with Tactical Air Command. Following his military service, he went on to work as a service manager for 30 years with office equipment suppliers, retiring from Reed's Office Equipment in Virginia Beach. Everett loved fishing and spending time on the water, as well as collecting coins.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Beulah Wright, their son, Charles Wright, and grandson Christopher Wright. Survivors include his children, Everett Wright Jr. (Lois), Linda Goff (Ron), Ronald Wright (Pam); fourteen grandchildren, twenty nine great-grandchildren; brother, Ken Wright; numerous nieces and nephews; and his dog Cooper.

A funeral service will be held at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at 7PM. A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 8, 2019 at 10AM at Hampton Memorial Gardens.
