Evelyn Hengeveld, 98, passed from this life to the next on June 10, 2021. She was a Red Cross volunteer at the Women's Health Clinic at Langley Air Force Base for over 20 years, a job she truly loved.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond J. Hengeveld, her parents, and her seven brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Elyse and Mike Webb, her son, R. Bryan Hengeveld, and two grandchildren, Dacoyda Heath and Tanner Hengeveld.

Visitation will be from 11am-12pm on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home in Hampton, with the service following at 12pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be private.

The family wishes to thank her caregivers over the last 9 years, especially Joy, Diane and Rafaella. Special thanks to the nurses and doctors in the Riverside Surgical ICU for their extraordinary care of our mother and their true compassion shown to our family.

You will live on forever in our hearts mom. Thank you for choosing us to be your children. We were truly blessed to have you as our mom.
