Eva Ruth Blume, 85, of Hampton, Va., died Thursday, August 13, 2015, at home. She was born April 13, 1930, in Memel, Germany. In 1959 she left Germany with her family and made a new home in Hampton. There she raised 4 sons and developed a life-long fondness for the American pastime of bowling. In 1961 the family bought a house in Hampton and there she put down roots. She made it a home and never moved again. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Wolfram and Marianne Blume; her son and daughter-in-law Gerhard and Lynn Blume; her son and daughter-in-law Dieter Blume and Anne Voegele; her son Peter Blume and Teresa Craig; her three grandchildren, USAF 1Lt Hoban Blume, Salim Blume, and Eden Blume; and three sisters in Germany. She was predeceased by her husband Hans-Juergen Blume and her grandson Derek Blume. A memorial service will be conducted at 1pm Friday August 21, 2015 at Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions, 2609 Cunningham Drive, Hampton, VA. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
