Eugene G. Christman, 79, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, August 16, 2013. He is survived by his wife, Rachel; five children, Chris, Scott and Philip Christman, Kathy Verville and Kimberly DeMorier; seven grandchildren, and beloved companion, Biscuit.

Gene sang in the air raid shelters in Washington, DC at seven years old. He went on to sing in the Newport News Operatic Society for 25 years. Since that time he has used his talent singing for his Lord. He was a source of joy to everyone he met and will surely be missed by all.

A memorial service will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home in downtown Hampton, by Rev. Carlton T. Shrieves.

The family wishes expressions of sympathy to take the form of contributions to Trinity Baptist Church, 15 Fox Hill Road, Hampton, VA 23669.
