Ernest R. Ticknor, 91, died Wednesday, May 8, 2024. Born in Westfield, NY, he served in the US Marine Corps, the US Navy (where he attended flight school), and retired from the US Air Force in 1975 with a combined 25 years of service. He was an excellent mechanic.
Preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Jane C. Ticknor and his sister, Hazel Marie Gallup. He is survived by his daughters, Janell Ticknor and Eva Ball; three grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
A funeral service with Air Force honors will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, May 14, 2024 in the R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home chapel.
