Ernest A. "George" Kincaid, 89, died Sunday, July 10, 2016. A native of Deerfield, VA, he was a longtime Hampton resident and member of East Hampton United Methodist Church. He served in the US Army during World War II and went to work for the Civil Service retiring from Fort Monroe in 1982 after 32 years of service.
George is survived by his wife of 65 years, Anne Hunt Kincaid; three sons, Mark Kincaid and his wife, Cheryl, Brian Kincaid and his wife, Brenda, and Benjamin Kincaid; a sister, Kay Easthom; four grandchildren, Lisa Kincaid, Travis Kincaid, Jesse Kincaid, and Jennifer Morris; and two great-grandchildren, Logan and Landon Morris.
An avid golfer, George enjoyed hunting and was a wonderful gardener who shared his bounty with his neighbors. He coached Phoebus Little League for a number of years.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Friday, July 15, 2016 in the R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home chapel by Rev. Merry. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 Thursday at the funeral home.
