Ernest Puckett, Jr., 65, died Friday, May 5, 2017. Born in Maryland, he was a Hampton resident for most of his life. He served in the US Navy during Vietnam and was a commercial fisherman. He loved being on the water.

Survivors include his daughter, Angela S. Parker and her husband, Daniel M. Parker; three grandchildren, Chloé M., Noah R. and Olivia L. Parker; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Joyce Yarborough; two nieces, Carla Deason and her husband, David and Cathy Spady; an aunt and uncle, Eugene and Mike Rackel; and a cousin, Carla Bergdal and her husband, Jim.

The family will receive friends from noon to 1pm Friday, May 12, 2017 with a service beginning at 1PM in the R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home chapel. Interment with Navy honors will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.
