IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Erika Nicole
Cartledge
March 7, 1988 – July 27, 2024
Erika N. Cartledge, 36, died Saturday, July 27, 2024. She was a native and lifelong resident of Hampton. Erika did not know a stranger. She talked to everyone like they were her best friend. She had a beautiful heart and wanted to help everyone. She was often seen with a phone to her ear chatting, listening and offering advice and friendship.
She led a full life. She took piano lessons, gymnastics, ballet, tap and jazz. She attended Gloria Dei Lutheran School, Eaton Middle School, Phoebus High School and got her GED in 2007. She completed cosmetology and dental assisting programs looking for a career. Erika's first job was at Hardees. She worked at a daycare, with her mom at PFP/NCS and at 7-11. She found her calling in 2009 with the birth of her first child.
Erika's favorite job was being a mom. She loved her kids more than anything. She was so very proud of them all and everything they did. Their education, their activities and the ordinary everyday things as well. Her face would light up when she talked about them. She wanted the best for them, always. Family was important to Erika. She loved spending time with them all celebrating birthdays and holidays, laughing and loving. Always.
Preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Cartledge and her maternal grandfather, George Ware; survivors include her children, Evan and Mackenzie Trantham and Cameron and Jayden Cartledge; her mother and stepfather, Amanda and Mike Panchyshyn; her stepfather, Charles Oliver; her father, David Kidroske, Jr.; her sisters, Jessica, Rachael and Ashley Kidroske; her grandparents, Martha Ware, Linda and Craig Simmons, David Kidroske, Sr., Tammy and Bob Banning, and Rick and Susan Panchyshyn; her uncle George "Matt" Ware and his wife, Rhonda and their daughter, Charlotte; two uncles, Charles Kidroske and Phillips Kidroske and their families; and many other loving family members.
