Eric Lee Hurt, a long time resident of Yorktown, Virginia, passed away December 20th, 2013. A native of Hot Springs, VA, Eric graduated in 1967 with a degree in Economics from Virginia Tech and later received an MBA in Economics from Louisiana Tech University. He married his college sweetheart, Elizabeth "Betty" Glenn upon graduating from Virginia Tech and went on to serve 23 years in the United States Air force. Eric traveled the world with his wife and two daughters before retiring from the Air Force in 1988. Eric began his second career in Healthcare Administration when he joined Sentara Healthcare, working another 23 years before retiring in September 2012. Eric was an avid 'Hokie', always ready for the next football game whether it be sitting in his Tech room at home or traveling to Blacksburg to cheer them on in person. He will be forever cherished and remembered as a devoted son, brother, husband, father and grandfather spending the majority of his time with his dearly loved family.

Eric Hurt is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Hurt; daughters Lee Anne Chesterfield and Marsha Hurt; Son-in-law Tom Chesterfield and grandchildren, Kristen and Bryce Chesterfield; his mother Dorothy Hurt and sister and brother-in-law Fran and Don Williams; Sister-in-law Tammy Glenn and brothers -in-law, Nick and Jim Glenn and mother-in-law Thelma Glenn .

The burial and memorial of Eric Hurt will take place at Arlington National Cemetery in the spring of 2014.
