Emma Myers Sechrist, 93, died Wednesday, February 8, 2017. A native of Winston-Salem, NC, she had been a Hampton resident since 1944. She was a former member of First Presbyterian Church and attended their women's circle and more recently a member of Fordham Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by her husband, Haywood M. Sechrist and a grandson, Joshua Sechrist; survivors include her sons, Craig M. Sechrist and his wife, Brenda of Gloucester and Curtis G. Sechrist and his wife, Carla of Hampton; and two grandsons, Caleb M. Sechrist and Jacob G. Sechrist.

A graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Friday, February 10, 2017 at Albert G. Horton, Jr. State Veterans' Cemetery, Suffolk. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Thursday at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home.
