Emily Marguerite Geiger (Billie), 94, went to join her family on July 14, 2018. Born in North Carolina, she moved to Hampton with her husband and children in 1963. Mrs. Geiger retired from the Newport News Shipbuilding in 1988 where she was known as Billie or Grandma to her coworkers. She was active in the Girl Scouts of America. She was a long time member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church when it was on Kecoughtan Rd in Hampton and when they moved to Semple Farm Rd.

She is survived by four daughters: Marguerite Massengill of Hampton, Va; Rita Tomlinson of Orlando,Fl; Ruth Middleton of Hampton,Va; Patricia Reid of Keysville,Va; a son Thomas Geiger of Kilmarnock, Va. She was Grandma to eight grandchildren and one great grandson.

A funeral service will be conducted at Emmanuel Lutheran Church at 12 noon on Monday, July 23 follow by the graveside at 1pm at Parklawn Memorial Park cemetery. The viewing will be Sunday, July 22 at Hayden Smith Funeral Home from 4 to 6pm.
