Ellen Christensen Spencer of Hampton passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 21, 2018. Having celebrated her 100th birthday this past January, she was born on Chapel Street, Hampton, VA on January 17, 1918.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Francis Spencer and her youngest son Douglas Wade Spencer.

She is survived by her sons, Joseph Henry Spencer, II (Debbie) of Hampton and John Francis Spencer, Jr. of Florida, four grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Burial will take place in Beverly Hills, FL at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation, 733 Third Avenue, Suite 510, New York, NY 10017.

Ellen lived her life by the verse 1 Corinthians 13:13 "And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love."
