Obituary

Ella Mae Johnson Kline, 93, passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 11, 2015. Ella was the youngest of eight children born to Benjamin Magruder Johnson and Mary Louise Johnson. After her mother's early death, she was raised by her Aunt Mary and Uncle Johnny Johnson. . A native and life-long resident of Fox Hill, she was a graduate of Hampton High School Class of 41 Ella was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She treasured her family and was a blessing to each of them. She enjoyed gardening and had a gift for growing beautiful roses. She was an excellent cook and talented seamstress. She was involved in her children's school, church and community activities. For many years she enjoyed family trips to the Outer Banks. In her youth she enjoyed playing softball and later in life enjoyed watching her grandchildren participate in school and sports activities. She was a member of Fox Hill Central United Methodist Church and their Ladies Fidelis Class. She was also a member of the American Legion's Women's Auxiliary. Ella is survived by her beloved husband of 73 years, Paul Eugene Kline; her children, Mary Lou Roaseau (Marty), and John Kline (Linda); grandchildren, Christopher Kline (Celina), Brandon Kline (Jeannette), Lauren Roaseau and Lindsey Roaseau; great-granddaughters, Chloe, Sydney and Brooke; and sister, Mattie Cathell along with many other family members that were blessed to know her. Ella touched the lives of many people with her smile and generosity. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 15th from 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM at Fox Hill Central United Methodist Church. A celebration of Ella's life will be held Sunday at 2:30 PM at the church. Interment will follow at Clark Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Clark Cemetery Association c/o Treasurer, 6 Riding Path, Hampton, VA 23669 or Fox Hill Central United Methodist Church.
