Obituary
HAMPTON - Elizabeth S. Allen (Liz) of Hampton, VA passed away February 17, 2016. She was born January 4, 1939 in Chicopee, MA. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Alvin B, Allen, Jr. Liz was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her beloved family. Liz retired from Bank of America, previously VA National and SOVRAN Bank after 20 + years. She was also a dedicated Kecoughtan High School Booster Club member that brought numerous projects to fruition for the school and extended community. Liz leaves to cherish her memories her children, Alvin and his wife, Patrice of Poquoson, Steven and his wife, Kimberly of Chesapeake and Craig and his wife, Darcy of Chesapeake; four grandchildren, Jacob, Jordan, Mackenzie, Blake, and step granddaughter, Courtney along with several nephews and a niece. We would like to extend thanks to Dr. Shonna J. Johnson, Dr. Paul Evans, the Riverside Group, and Autumn Care Assisted Living, Chesapeake and especially her last residence, Granny's House by Ms. Tammy Bruan of Chesapeake, for her continued care and wonderful compassion. The family will receive friends from 11-12:30 pm Saturday at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S. Armistead Ave, Hampton, VA 23669 . Immediately following at 12:30 pm, a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel by Rev. David T. Hampton. Interment will be in Hampton Veterans Memorial Gardens.
