Elizabeth "Susie" Powell passed away on December 11th while surrounded by family and friends at the home she shared in Newport News with her life partner, Linda Baumler. An accomplished medical professional, Susie is best known for her sparkling personality and unselfish love of friends and family. Indeed, more than thirty friends and neighbors gathered spontaneously on the day of Susie's death, hoping to find some relief for the sudden empty place in each of their lives. Susie was also a yachting enthusiast and avid sportswoman, who particularly excelled at golf, snorkeling and mountain hiking. Her favorite saying was "LIVE LONG, LAUGH LOUD and LOVE MUCH." She will be truly missed by all whose lives she touched.
