Elizabeth McCue Crawford ended her long struggle against cancer on May 14, 2016 at age 57.  She was born in Staunton, Virginia and grew up in Verona, Virginia, graduating from Fort Defiance High School (1977), Blue Ridge Community College, and Virginia Tech (1983).  She was a loving wife, devoted mother to three boys, and faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Hampton.

She was preceded in death by her father Frank McCue and her stepfather Andrew McCaskey Sr.  She is survived by her mother Vivian McCaskey, husband Alan, three sons Michael (wife Emily), William, and Matthew.  She is also survived by three sisters Barbara Howe, Evelyn Shirkey, and Mary Wingfield, and two stepbrothers Andrew McCaskey, Jr. and David McCaskey, and many nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth was very active in the life of her church and loved her church family.  She was also, while able, an active leader and camper with Boy Scout Troop 29 in Hampton, where her sons all earned the rank of Eagle Scout.  Her second home was in Blacksburg Virginia, where she earned a degree in Finance, met her future husband, later sent her boys to college and made the autumn treks to watch the Hokies play.

Elizabeth was a member of the Bosom Buddies cancer support group and participated yearly in the Hampton Relay for Life events.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either the First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund at 110 E. Queen Street, Hampton, VA 23669 or to the American Cancer Society.
