Elizabeth "Boosie" Gardner Higgins Davis, 85, died Sunday, February 5, 2017. Born in Toano, she was a lifelong Peninsula resident where she had worked for Drucker and Faulk, Harrison and Lear and Swing Electrical. She loved playing Bingo and enjoyed crafts, especially sewing and macramé.
Preceded in death by her husband, Dennitte M. Davis, her parents, Clay Estelle and John Hill Gardner, Sr., and most of her siblings; survivors include her children, Robert Wayne Higgins, Deborah Higgins Koss, Dwayne M. Davis and his wife, Rhonda, Dennitte M. Davis, Jr. and his wife, Dianne, Richard D. Davis and his wife, Theresa, and Gregory W. Davis; a sister, Dale Gardner Teagle; a brother, John Hill, Jr.; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Olive Branch Christian Church, 7643 Richmond Rd., Williamsburg by Rev. Richard Cline. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall. A committal service will take place at 3pm Thursday at Parklawn Memorial Park.
