Elaine Binder Kuykendall, 86, of Hampton, passed away April 8, 2022 at Coliseum Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  Daughter of the late Jacob and Hannah Binder, she was born October 9, 1935, in Newport News, VA.

Elaine graduated from Newport News High School in 1953.  She was a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church in Hampton where she was church clerk and Sunday School teacher for 38 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Harriet Reynolds and brother, Michael Binder.

Mrs. Kuykendall is survived by her husband of 65 years, Louis E. Kuykendall, Sr.; son, Rev. Dr. Louis E. Kuykendall, Jr. and wife Dr. Sally Kuykendall of Harleysville, PA; daughter, Debbie Buras and husband Mark of Seaford, DE; brother, Morty Binder and wife Ruth of Newport News; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; special nieces Donna Lynn Reynolds Dean and Jackie Reynolds, and special family friends Jennifer Posey, Evelyn Boone and Dave and Connie Wescott.

The family will receive friends from 9am to 10am on Wednesday, April 13, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, with a funeral service, officiated by Pastor Bob Wrenn, beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will be private.
