Obituary

Edward Scott Silverthorn, son of Arline and Bobby Silverthorn  passed  away on June 7th unexpectedly.

Scott is survived by his parents, Arline and Bobby Silverthorn, fiancee Kathleen Chomas, two brothers, Ron(Cherrie), David (Theresa), and many cousins.

Scott is the second son born November 5th, 1963 in Hampton, VA, where he studied music, and was a master in many areas of the martial arts.  His other interests included numismatics, Iaido and teaching  philosophy of the Samurai  plus  activities which involved friends and family.

Scott also worked at Reed Walton's Coin Shop which he enjoyed very much.

His keen sense of humor, love of animals, and a healthy interest in innovative ideas were part of Scott's lifestyle.  Scott was highly respected as Sensei to many of his martial arts students, and for his trumpet music playing with his many friends and at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church on special occasions such as Christmas and Easter services.

Scott was quiet and somewhat private which contrasted with his bold and excellent trumpet playing abilities.

Scott will be greatly missed with much heartache so unable to assuage.  As a son, a brother and a friend he was always willing to help when needed.  Words cannot express the deep sorrow that is felt at such a grievous time nor weigh the mighty burden of so bitter a loss. Our love will always be with Scott until we join him in the afterlife in God's heavenly kingdom.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 179 E. Mercury Blvd., Hampton, VA 23669

A memorial service will be conducted at Emmanuel Episcopal Church on Saturday, June 11, 2016, at 11a.m by the Rev. Rhonda Wheeler.
