Edward F. Green, 91, died Saturday, September 7, 2024. Born in Jefferson, South Carolina to Edward and Lucy Green, he had been a Hampton resident since the mid 1960's. An Army veteran, he retired as a MSgt. in 1975 after 22 years of service. He enjoyed camping and boating, even waterskiing well into his 60's. Always a worker, he enjoyed being on a tractor preparing his vegetable garden and sharing his bounty with others. Most of all, he just enjoyed being with his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Icey Belle Green; two brothers, George and Jesse Greene; and a sister, Helen Owens. Survivors include his wife, Juana Green; his son, Edward "Glenn" Green and his wife, Paula; his grandson, Michael Green and his wife, Laurissa; two great-grandchildren, Chase Green and Blakeley; his sister, Mary Fipps and her husband, Freddie; Juana's children, Guillermo Patlan, Jonathan Patlan and his wife, Haley, and Johnny Patlan; and many other family members.

The family will receive friends from 11am-noon on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home with a funeral service beginning at noon. Interment with full Army honors will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.
