Edith Mae Shackelford Mull, 85, passed away on January 18, 2018. A lifelong resident of Hampton she was a graduate of Hampton High School and went on to work at the Newport News Shipyard as a maintenance technician from 1979 until her retirement in 1994. Edith was a talented writer and received the Golden Poet Award in 1985. She was an active member of Pine Chapel Baptist Church before her illness. One of Edith's greatest joys in life was spending time with her family, and she was well known for being a talented cook.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Shackelford and Edith Rowe Wilkins, and her daughter, Shirley L. Mintz. Edith is survived by her children, Ricky W. Mull Jr., Ronald C. Mull, and Carol M. Owens; seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

The family will hold a celebration of life at Pine Chapel Baptist Church, Hampton on January 25th, Thursday at 12 PM.
