Edith Knight Hunt, 83, of Hampton, Virginia, passed away peacefully at home on January 1, 2024.  Edith was born on September 4, 1940, to Robert L. (Bob) and Dorothy (Dottie) Johnson in Norton, Virginia.  She graduated from Hampton High School in 1959.

She is survived by a daughter, Katherine Knight Glass, and son, Howard Keith Knight (Souad) and grandchildren Kayleigh Glass-Sistrunk (Darrion), Farriss Salahdin Knight and Sammy Alexander Knight.  She is also survived by nephew Edward Christopher Johnson (Nancy), grand-niece Noelle Johnson Harbin (Colter) and their son Lane along with niece Abigail Gampel Bornstein (David) and their son Elijah.  Edith was also survived by her sister-in-law Penny Hissem (Alan), and brother-in-law Thomas Grayson Hunt.

Edith was pre-deceased by her loving husband, Robert Lee Hunt, brother George Edward Johnson, and sisters-in-law Annette Hunt and Sara Hunt.

Services will be held in the chapel of R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 3 p.m.  Interment will be private.  It is the family's request that expressions of sympathy be donations made to your charity of choice.
