Earnest H. "Ernie" Robins, Jr. 55, died Sunday, December 27, 2015. A native and lifelong Peninsula resident, he worked for Coxton's Collision Center. He was an avid hockey fan and enjoyed watching the Hampton Roads Admirals play and a great NASCAR fan, his favorite driver being Dale Earnhart.
Preceded in death by his parents, Alice and Earnest H. Robins; survivors include his sisters, Sharon Rose and her husband, Ron of Fredericksburg and Elaine Swartz and her husband, Mike of Smithfield; his aunts and uncles, Evelyn Robins of Hampton, Charles Lee Robins of Knoxville, TN, Myrtle Boulden and her husband, Charles of Mechanicsville, and Lynwood Rowe and his wife, Sylvia of Gloucester; two great-nieces, Victoria Rose and Emily Boehm and her husband, Tommy; a grand-niece on the way; and many cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6-7PM Wednesday, December 30, 2015 followed by a memorial service beginning at 7:00PM in the R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home chapel.
