Doris J. Rhinehart, 89, died Sunday, January 1, 2017. A native of Rockfish, VA, she had been a Tidewater resident for most of her life. She had worked as a prep-cook at the Officers' Clubs at both Fort Monroe and Fort Eustis. In her younger years she loved to square dance, work puzzle books, sew, read, and chase fire trucks. She travelled with her sister, and went to visit her children who lived out of state. She loved when her family came to visit most of all.

Preceded in death by parents, Alice and Oscar Phlegar, two brothers, Jesse and Leonard Phlegar, two sons, Junior "Jim" Rhinehart and David Rhinehart, a daughter, Gloria Milligan, and a great-granddaughter, Grace Martin; survivors include her heart-broken children, Dayton Rhinehart (Violet) of Raleigh, NC, Carolyn Weatherman (Bob) of Hampton, Rita Brown  (Bob) of Newport News, Brenda Shepherd of Hampton, and Nora Bryan of Navarre, FL; daughter-in-law, Trudy Rhinehart of Baton Rouge, LA; sister, Brenda Pruitt; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Our love for you will never be forgotten.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions.
