Doreen Hodges, 55, was suddenly called home to the Lord Jesus Christ Saturday July 4, 2015. She was born in Newport News August 9, 1959 to Leon and Bernice Jenkins. Doreen was preceded in death by her husband George "Bud" Hodges. She is survived by her lifetime friend, Fred Callis of Suffolk, Fred Sr. and Eva Callis; sister Doris Rudd of Yorktown (husband Billy); three nephews Danny Williams (girlfriend Britni), Justin Williams (wife Kailey), and Will Rudd; two great nephews Danny Williams, Jr. and Ashton Williams; two great nieces Emmi Williams and Ally Williams; and her beloved pets Chico, Josie, Abby, and Trouble. A memorial service will be held at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home on Saturday July 11, 2015 at 3:00 PM. Family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local SPCA.
