Donald G. Fendrick, Colonel US Army Reserve (Retired), passed away May 25, 2022.  He was a resident of Hampton, Virginia. Donald was born to the late Virgil Monte and Adestia (Hornbeck) Fendrick, January 30th 1930 in Fairbury Illinois. He graduated from Ladonna Missouri High School and was the last surviving member of his high school graduating class.

Don enjoyed his time in the U.S. Army and remained in the Army Reserve until he retired at the rank of Colonel. He was a Budget Officer at U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) at Fort Monroe until he retired at the age of 55.  Don remained active as Treasurer at Central United Methodist Church, Hampton for decades.  He enjoyed preparing meals for H.E.L.P., teaching young children life skills, and certainly playing a round of golf with his friends. He was proud that he had scored 3 holes in one.  He was always available to lend a helping hand to anyone that he could help.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; sisters, Beth Ann Fendrick, Bonnie Williams, and Shirley Smith; brother, Richard; along with grandsons, Steven and Donald Fendrick.

Don is survived by his son, Mark Fendrick (Valerie) and granddaughters Rachel and Alexis Fendrick.

The family will receive friends at Central United Methodist Church, Hampton on Thursday June 2, 2022 from 1-2PM. A funeral service will follow at 2PM with interment in Parklawn Memorial Park afterwards.
