Donald Forrest Berry, 77, died unexpectedly on Saturday, July 29, 2023. Born to parents McDonald Lee and Ruby Shores Berry, he had been a lifelong Hampton resident; graduating from Hampton High School, Class of 1964. Don proudly served our country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War and retired as a Technical Trainer with Xerox Corporation after 32 years.

A quiet, steady, and observant man, Don was also a respectful and calm teacher, a voracious reader, and a lover of Western movies. Don spent time working in the yard, tinkering in his garage, and doting on the love of his life. Creating a loving home surrounded by a large family was his greatest gift.

Don was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 40 years, Cheryl Berry; children Warren Berry (Paula), Stephanie Sabin (Dan), Kris Antonucci (Mark), and Clayton Berry (Kristine); six grandchildren who adored him; Tes La Dieu (Brandon), Ethan Berry, Seth Berry, Zac Reduto, Jenna Berry and Zoey Reduto. He is also survived by his sister, Judith Arnold.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 4 PM, Saturday, August 19, 2023 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S. Armistead Avenue, Hampton; and the family will receive friends prior to the service from 3-4 PM at the funeral home.
