Dennis W. Ross, 57, died Sunday, December 12, 2021. Born in Wilmington, NC, he was raised in Hampton before joining the US Army in 1983. He retired from the Army as a highly decorated First Sergeant in 2003 after 20 years of service and was jumpmaster qualified. Dennis was currently working as a Senior Property Disposal Specialist for the Civil Service.

He was a loving husband, father, pawpaw, and brother.

Preceded in death by his parents, Jean and Harry G. Ross, Sr., his daughter Rachael Ross, and his sister, Lisa Quidera; survivors include his wife, Dawn Ross; his daughter, Lindsay Ingraham (Joe); his son, Wade Ross (Rachelle); his grandson, Caden Ingraham; his sisters, Loretta Beetler, Edie Strong, and Leigh Robinson; his brothers, H. Gordon Ross, Jr. and Lynn Ross; and thirteen nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Friday, December 17, 2021 in the R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home chapel and may be watched live by clicking HERE. Interment with full Army honors will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.
