Debra "Debbie" Leigh Belcher entered into eternal peace with her Lord and Savior on January 25, 2018. She was born on December 26, 1956.

Debbie was employed as a Deputy City Clerk with the City of Newport News. She devoted 24 years of service to the Commonwealth of Virginia at Thomas Nelson Community College, Tidewater Community College and the Virginia Legislature.

She was a devoted Christian that displayed her faith each day. As an avid sports fan you could hear her always chanting, "Go Cowboys" and "Go Hokies". And most importantly, she was an amazing mother, meme, and friend to all.

Debbie was preceded in death by her best friend and loving husband Tom. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Michelle Garrett and son-in-law Mark. She is also lovingly remembered by her two granddaughters, Ashley and Kayleigh Toth and her beloved grand-dog Peanut.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 3-5 pm at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S. Armistead Ave, Hampton. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am, Monday, January 29, 2018 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home. A private interment will be held in Albert G. Horton State Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk.
