Deborah Lynn Burgess, 64, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, with her beloved husband by her side.  Born in Hampton to parents Newton and Betty Bulger, she remained a lifelong resident.  Deborah graduated from Hampton High School, Class of 1978; and retired from Pomoco Auto Group.  She enjoyed arts and crafts, loved to cook and was good at it, and anything computers.  Online games to include Worlds of Warcraft and Spades, introduced her to many new friends; some of whom became very dear to her.  Traveling was a passion, especially to the OuterBanks of North Carolina with her mother.  Deborah never met a stranger, and loved people, and was at her happiest when she was making you laugh.

Preceded in death by her parents; her sister-in-law, Kathy Odom; a special aunt, Shirley Burt; aunt, Sandy Spencer; and uncle, Richard Spencer; she leaves to cherish her memory, husband, Larry E. Burgess; sisters-in-law, Elaine Gowen (Clint) and Becky Burgess; brother-in-law, Bobby Burgess (Michelle); uncles, Frank Spencer and James "Birdie" Burt; aunt, Harriet Spencer; numerous nieces and nephews; many close friends and was a devoted Godmother to, Madison Terry.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 12, 2025, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, Hampton, VA. The service will be livestreamed on the funeral home Facebook page. ( click here )
