Debera Boesen "Miss Debbie", age 58, of Hampton, Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday afternoon, May 16, 2023.  She was born on April 17, 1965 in Aviano, Italy to parents Roy K. and Brigitta Hammer Boesen.

At the age of 14 she met the love of her life Danny. She became a mother in 1982 to her oldest son, David, followed by her only daughter Jamie, then came Jason, and lastly her youngest son who was a surprise, Justin.

Miss Debbie was a childcare worker who devoted her time and care to many kids over the years. In 1984 she moved to "Langley Square", an apartment complex in Hampton, where she quickly became the neighborhood babysitter. To the children she cared for she was like a second mom, and to everyone else in the neighborhood she was like an aunt. All the neighborhood kids felt at home in her house and hung out there often.

She was preceded in death by her father Roy, her mother Brigitta, her brother Matthew, her sister Benita, her brother Mark, and the love of her life, Daniel Thompson.  She is survived and missed by her four children, her seven grandchildren: Jeremiah, Aaliyah, Jayden, Jayce, Solomon (DJ), Jayla, and Jaylynn. Her brother Darren, and three sisters Roxann, Sharon, and Connie, as well as ten nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on June 03, 2023, at the R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S Armistead Ave, Hampton, VA 23669. Flowers are welcome and can be sent to the same address.

There will be a repass after services at 1:00 PM, Robinson Park, 127 Braddock Road Hampton, VA 23661.
