David W. Greenwood, 86, died on Sunday, July 3, 2016 in Long Beach, NJ. A native of Marion, VA, he had been a longtime resident of Hampton before moving to New Jersey to be with his family. Following high school, David served in the United States Air Force during Korea. Following his military service he went on to graduate from the Medical College of Virginia with a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences. David loved the work he did as a Pharmacist. Following his retirement, he enjoyed antiquing and raising birds.

David was preceded in death by his loving wife Bessie U. Greenwood and his son David W. Greenwood Jr. Survivors include his daughter, Terri Smith and her husband Gary as well as their children Gary R. Smith and David R. Smith.

The family will receive friends at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home on Thursday, July 7, 2016 from 10-11:30AM. A graveside service will be held at 1PM on Thursday at Parklawn Memorial Park.
