David "Red" Holzworth, 62, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021. He was born March 3, 1959 in Indiana, Pennsylvania to Mary and Clyde Holzworth. He left behind his loving wife of 41 years, Yolanda; daughters Tamara (Jimmy), Caitlin (Jonathan); son Blaine; and grandchildren Zayne, Ash, Brady, Rylie, Leila, Memphis, Conor, Liam, Cadhla, Bella; and adoptive family Julie and Julian.

He started his career as a foam operator at Star Manufacturing in Homer City, Pennsylvania, where he met his wife. From there he joined the sheet metal department at the Newport News Shipyard. Fifteen years later he moved into the RADCON division, where he worked his way to supervisor and he remained there for 22 years.

Dave was dedicated to his work and loved his job and coworkers. He loved the outdoors, car shows, motorcycles, and any kind of work he could do with his hands. Above all, his family was the most important thing in his life and he loved them all dearly. He was a dedicated husband, father and pappy. He brought joy to everyone around him with his goofy sense of humor and his Facebook posts. He made friends wherever he went and would do anything for anyone, even a stranger.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, May 8, 2021 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, Hampton.  The service will be live streamed on the funeral home Facebook page or you may click here at 1:55 PM to join virtually.
