Darrell Lee Ullery, age 88, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 29, 1937, Darrell devoted his life to service and to family. He proudly served his country in the United States Army for 22 years, He was a proud veteran who served with honor and distinction. After retiring from the military, Darrell's strong work ethic continued for the next 22 years at the Newport News Shipyard. Darrell especially loved spending time with his grandchildren who were the light of his life. He stayed active spending time in the pool and the gym.

He was preceded in death by Gary Ullery and Brigitte Ridgeway. Darrell is survived by his wife, Anna Ullery, and his children, Pam Capps (Butch), Judy Anchors (Rob), Darrell Ullery Jr. (Darla), John Ullery (Peggy), Karen Tougas (Ray), Mike Ullery, and Butch Ullery. He also leaves behind 16 cherished grandchildren, Nicole Terrien, Michelle DuBois, Adam Ullery, Ashley Savage, Mark Underhill, Matt Capps, Christina Scordo, Carlee Shiflett, Judy Jenkins, M. J. Ullery, Nick Ullery, Lauren Cole, Hayley Ullery, Peyton Ullery, Candice Depping and Allen Depping. His family will forever remember his love, laughter, and the lessons he shared.

He is also remembered by a special friend Debbie who held a cherished place in his heart. Thanks go out to Shanna Taylor and her staff at St. Andrews and the wonderful staff of Riverside Hospice.

A service to celebrate Darrell's life will be held at a later date after the first of the year, an announcement will follow with those details.

Darrell will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of faith, service, and family will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
